Veteran professional agronomist and business leader Kip Rowe has joined the team at Meristem Crop Performance as Regional Sales Manager for North and South Dakota. In the new role, Rowe will focus on expanding sales and distribution of Meristem’s innovative product portfolio in the Dakotas, including the game-changing patented BIO-CAPSULE™ seed fluency delivery system.

“We are helping farmers make real productivity gains all across the country,” said Meristem Founder and CEO Mitch Eviston in making the announcement. “Kip’s experience with the unique challenges farmers have in the Dakotas will help us as we quickly expand our all-star sales team and dealer network to effectively serve more farmers and create a wider pathway for this new technology. We are out to see farmers make more from every acre and keep more of what they earn.”

Rowe comes to Meristem from nearly eight years at Rob-See-Co, where he carried out a dual role as regional sales manager and product evaluation lead. “My first role as an agronomist there was evaluating hybrids, scaling them up, and getting them to market,” he says. “That led to working more closely with the sales team to match the right seed to the right fields and help them see the potential.”

Rowe grew up on a family grain and cattle operation in southcentral South Dakota. He earned his bachelor’s degree in agronomy and crop science from South Dakota State University and moved into agronomic consulting with CENTROL, part of a dedicated team of experts serving Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota with agronomic know-how. After 11 years there he joined Rob-See-Co. He now lives in Sioux Falls, S.D., with his wife Lea and their twin teenage boys – Max and Sid. He sees his move to Meristem as part of the next important step in putting farmer success first.

“I think bringing the power of biologicals to bear for farmers is the new frontier of improving crop yields,” Rowe says. “We’ve experienced the benefits of improvements in seed traits, in crop protection — now biologicals are the next tool to boost yields.”

Rowe says he’s already seen the power of biologicals when they are delivered alive and vigorous to the soil through the planter box from Meristem’s REVLINE® HOPPER THROTTLE™ on corn. “We’re seeing an improved stand, faster canopy and more bushels,” he says, “and it’s convenient to use. It can help a farmer make the most of an investment they are already making in great seed. It can help them make the most of every seed they plant.” With the challenges farmers face, Rowe says his mission is always to come alongside and help.

“I guess growing up on a family farm, I remember how long the ‘to-do’ list can be,” he says. “Farmers have a lot going on – marketing, equipment, management, and so on – when I can come in and save them time and get them a better ROI, then it’s a really good day for us both.”
