07/25/2022

Marcus Tishner and Mid State Ag Are Ramping Up to Bring Innovation and High-quality Crop Inputs to More Farmers in Indiana

Marcus Tishner of Mid State Ag, LLC today announced a new dealership agreement to serve farmers in Northcentral Indiana. Under the new relationship, Mid State Ag will carry the Meristem Crop Performance product line and become Meristem’s ally in helping farmers make the most of every dollar they spend on crop inputs.

“Marcus Tishner is known for hard work and practical solutions that make the most of every seed planted on those acres he touches in Indiana,” said Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO, in announcing the agreement.  “We’re excited to be able to come alongside him as he serves his farmer-customers and also gain from his agronomic know-how and field experience as we add new products.”

“Individual customer service is what drives our business,” said Tishner, who, along with his wife Kelly and their two children represent Pioneer Seed in their service area in Central Indiana. “The farmers I serve have different farming methods, different soils and different goals and it’s my mission to help each of them make the most of every crop. Partnering up with Meristem comes from our desire to service them even better and continually improve their ROI (return on investment).”

Tishner says he’s already seen results from Meristem products after seeing them work over the past several years for farmers he knows. “I like Meristem’s line-up,” he said. “I’m already seeing great results from Revline™ Advanced, Meristem’s plant growth regulator. It’s increased root mass and really helped plant health this year.” Tishner said. “HOPPER THROTTLE™, their talc-graphite planter box treatment with microbials is improving crop stand and making planting time a little easier, too.”

Mid State Ag currently focuses on serving farmers in the Indiana counties of Tipton, Howard, Clinton, Cass, and Miami. They will now offer Meristem’s full product portfolio, including seed treatments under the brand RACEREADY, HOPPER THROTTLE™ planter box treatments, REVLINE™ plant growth regulators, TRUTRACK™ drift control, AQUADRAFT™ water conditioners and surfactants, and HOMESTRETCH™ nitrogen stabilizers, micronutrients, and foliar nutritionals. Of special interest is a line of biologicals Meristem is bringing to market, including EXCAVATOR™, a new biological designed to break down tough crop residue.

Tishner was born in Elwood, Ind., and grew up in nearby Tipton. He says his family is well-rooted in Pioneer Seed, with his father working in the production plant and his mother serving as sign production lead. “If you’ve had a Pioneer field sign up in the past 20 years, my family was a part of it,” he smiles.

His wife Kelly also worked in the sign production department and now serves as sales support supervisor for Pioneer as well as playing a big role in their business, Mid State Ag.

Eviston said Tishner’s love for family and ‘farmer-first” mentality is what makes Mid State Ag and Meristem a good match for better serving Indiana farmers.

“Providing more opportunities for farm businesses like Tishner’s is a key part of our mission,” says Eviston. “We’ve set up Meristem to cut waste from the distribution channel while providing high-quality crop input additives to help American farmers reduce costs and increase yield, so they are more competitive in a global market. Now, with the help of Marcus Tishner and his family, we’ll be able to connect with more of the farmers who can benefit.”
