Champion Corn Grower David Hula to Keynote Meristem’s Dealer Partner Event

05/25/2022

David Hula, the world record holder for corn yield – posting more than 600 bushels/acre in the 2021 NCGA National Corn Yield Contest – has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for Meristem’s Breakthrough to Excellence Dealer Partner event. The meeting is set for August 10-12, 2022 at Lake Lawn Lodge in Delavan, Wisconsin.

Hula’s winning 2021 entry was from his home operation, Renwood Farms, in Charles City, VA. Renwood Farms, located 10 miles upriver from the historic Jamestown Settlement, has seen 400 years of agriculture. It was also the site of Hula’s world record yield of 616 bushels/acre in 2019. Known as one of the top farmers in the world and a leader in the industry, Hula often participates in making educational videos and other media about high yield corn farming, sharing insights and tips on his own successes.

“I’m not really interested in ‘beating’ other farmers. What I’m interested in is pushing the boundaries and being a student of the crop,” says Hula. “If you want to grow big corn, you’ve got to pay attention to all the details.”

“We’re delighted to have the chance to learn from this champion,” said Mitch Eviston in sharing the news of Hula’s involvement. “Clearly, he’s working to make the most of every pass he makes through the field, and that’s what we’re all about at Meristem. It’s a great fit.”
