Allen Hensley Signs With Meristem Crop Performance

01/11/2024

Veteran Texas Seedsman and Farm Manager is the Latest to Join Meristem’s “All-Star Team”

ALICE, Tex. and COLUMBUS, Ohio (AgPR) Jan. 11, 2024 – Experienced Texas seed rep Allen Hensley has joined Meristem Crop Performance Group, LLC, one of the fastest-growing crop input suppliers in America. Hensley becomes Meristem’s sales and dealer development operative in central and southern Texas.

“Allen Hensley is a knowledgeable and service-oriented expert at getting solid crop production results in the challenging conditions facing Texas crop producers,” says Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO in announcing the hire. “He knows his stuff and is not afraid to incorporate innovative technology to get better results. We are excited to have him on our growing all-star team.”

Hensley grew up working on a family farm south of San Antonio. After classes at a local community college, he enrolled at Rogers State University in Oklahoma, where he met his future wife, Svetlana. The couple now live near Alice, Texas and have three sons: Miryk, 17, Kirym, 9 and Maverik, 7.

“Meristem’s mission and messages are very important and very straightforward,” he says. “Meristem means less stress to the crops, more bushels for less and reducing waste.” As he continues to operate a farm business providing Rob-See-Co seed to growers, he sees Meristem’s innovation as key to making the most of every seed that goes into the ground.

“I’ve been seeing these different biologicals come out over the past several years and I could see there had to be a better way of doing it,” he says. “As soon as I saw REVLINE® HOPPER THROTTLE™ in that BIO-CAPSULE™, it just made sense. And it’s really working.”

Allen and Svetlana returned to Texas in 2010 when his grandfather passed away and the family needed a hand with the operation, then run by his uncle and cousin. After a conversation with family and friends, he became farm manager for a 12,000-acre operation nearby and at the same time launched his farm business with Rob-See-Co.

“I’ve had a very good experience with Rob-See-Co,” says Hensley. “It turned into a consulting business, and I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking about a farmer’s problem and how to solve it. I realized then that it had reignited a passion in me for bringing the best solutions to farmers.” When Meristem’s President Rob McClelland called about carrying the Meristem portfolio to more farmers in Texas, he seized the opportunity.

“It starts with the soil and the seed, but you need to feed that crop all season long and Meristem has the products that can do that,” he says. “Farmers down here are in a lower yield environment and have to be careful managers. Meristem’s “more bushels for less,” makes perfect sense to them. “They need it.”
