Thrasher started full-time with Meristem in 2023 as Director of Innovation and Product Management and, before that, had worked extensively with Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO, in early product development for the company.

“I worked with Chris Thrasher off and on for several years as we built Meristem’s product portfolio and vision for widening the pathway for new, innovative technology,” Eviston said. “I was really excited about him joining our team full-time in 2023 and he has earned the opportunity to take this next step. He will oversee our entire product portfolio and bring more solutions for farmers to increase nutrient-use efficiency, grow big, healthy plants fast, and produce more bushels for less.”

Thrasher earned his bachelor’s degree in agribusiness education from Auburn University. He also has a master’s degree in business administration from Purdue Global University. After his undergraduate work, Thrasher taught high school agriculture for 11 years before moving back to his home area to work retail ag sales for Southern States Cooperative. He worked at their largest row crop location in Alabama.

“My time in retail sales fueled my passion to deliver products that would change agriculture,” Thrasher said. “I wanted to bring products to farmers that were easy to use and could provide value year after year. It was then I saw a big opportunity to deliver that value was with biologicals.”

Thrasher resides in Cullman, Ala., with his wife Keli, and children, Will and Caroline. He is excited for this new role.

“Meristem has provided the opportunity for me to leverage the passion and experience I gained over many years in the industry. This is my third season with Meristem as an employee, and we’re starting to see the fruit of what we put into place two or three years ago,” Thrasher said. “We’ve seen incredible results for farmers and that is why I’m involved in agriculture. I want to help farmers be more profitable. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing someone else succeed with technologies you’ve had a hand in developing. Looking ahead I know we can benefit many more farmers and truly change agriculture for the better, all while producing more bushels for less.”
